A “Trois Crayons” chalk on black card composition by an unknown artist. The work is not signed or dated but I believe it to be late 20th to early 21st century.
This could have been inspired by or after Jean Antoine Watteau (1684-1721). It can also be described as a “Chiaroscuro” (pioneered by Leonardo) usually associated with the 17th-cent Caravaggist artists and Rembrandt. What do you think ?
It really does look good on the wall in it’s glazed, pale-green, soft-wood frame.
This, for me, is another unusual piece of modern art which draws the eye and holds the attention.
It is an original. It is probably a one-off.
It has obviously been done by a skilled artist who may yet be identified. Please, can you identify the artist. Or, do you have more of his/her work.
