A signed and dated oil on canvas of Geckos. This interesting painting shows some of the primitive style associated with tribal art. The front and rear toes point outwards and there are symbols on the lizards backs.
What might be mistaken for snakes could well be those symbols used for rivers.
This is dated 99 (1999) and signed with what looks like “Gianto”.
The artist could be the Javanese or Indonesian artist Gianto in a somewhat Keliki style.
I would be interested to know who the artist is and see other examples of his work.
